Hector A. Malave, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Hector Malave grew up in Caracas, Venezuela and spent part of his childhood in Buffalo, New York. He attended medical school at the Universidad Central de Venezuela where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1990. He completed postgraduate training in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he later served on the Faculty in the Department of Medicine and the Veterans Affairs Administration Hospital. He completed cardiology and interventional Cardiology fellowship training programs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he also worked as a research fellow in vascular biology. He is board certified in cardiology and interventional cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
His major professional interests in cardiology are in the field of coronary artery disease and coronary intervention. Other skill sets include non-invasive imaging including nuclear cardiology and echocardiography, as well as pacemaker implantation. Dr. Malave provides outpatient care at his Sandy Springs office, and has staff privileges at St. Joseph’s Hospital of Atlanta, where he is Medical Director of Clinical Cardiology, and at Nortshide Hospital.
On a personal level he plays the violin, enjoys reading, art and travel, and lives in Atlanta with his wife and two sons.
Matthew J. Wilson, M.D., F.A.C.C.
Dr. Matthew Wilson is a new addition to Cardiology of Atlanta since mid-2008. He grew up in West Virginia where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors from West Virginia University. He attended West Virginia University School of Medicine and graduated with honors in 2002 where he was inducted into the national medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his post-graduate medical training at Emory University in internal medicine and has been board certified since 2005. He completed fellowship training in cardiology at Emory and is board certified in cardiology.
His interests within the field of cardiology include non-invasive imaging including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). He spent a dedicated year at Emory during training acquiring special expertise in these advanced cardiac imaging modalities. Non-invasive advanced cardiac imaging examinations are powerful tools in the modern cardiology practice to diagnose the complete spectrum of cardiovascular diseases, often before clinical symptoms occur.
Dr. Wilson performs consultative cardiology from his Sandy Springs office and has staff privileges at both St. Joseph’s Hospital and Northside Hospital. He enjoys playing guitar, woodworking, and travel. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, 2 sons, and miniature dachshund.
Nancy Seigle, PA-C
Nancy Seigle is a physician assistant devoted to the care of cardiac patients, working in close collaboration with the physicians of Cardiology of Atlanta. She cares for all types of cardiac patients, with a main focus on cardiac risk reduction through intensive management of lipoprotein abnormalities, hypertension, and insulin resistance. Her prior experience in rheumatology and internal medicine provides a valuable perspective for her cardiac patients.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Duke University in 1993, Nancy returned to her native Atlanta. She worked on several pharmaceutical trials before moving to Houston, Texas for her physician assistant training. In 1998, she earned a Master of Science degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Upon graduation she was recognized with the McIntosh Award. This award is given to the graduating student who in the opinion of the faculty has achieved the highest degree of academic excellence and service.
Nancy is certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the Georgia Academy of Physician Assistants and the National Lipid Association. Nancy and her husband reside in Cumming and are blessed with a son and a daughter. She enjoys boating, gardening, and outdoor adventures with her family and her golden retriever.
